The time is near….

How long has it been since I have posted something? Anyway, we have been busy (with a capital everything)!! I thought I would post that we are scheduled to be induced on the 22nd of Feb, 2008 (I put the year in just in case I do not post again for the next year).  Please pray for us that things will go smoothly and our new son will come into the world safely.
Have I already posted his name? It will be Deacon Elsworth Taylor. It’s kind of funny. Nobody really makes fun of his name in front of us, but there is the requisite blank stare as people try to process and understand what we just said. Of course, Deacon means servant, but there has been at least one man in history named Deacon who was a bad (meaning good) man — Deacon Jones. His middle name is my father’s middle name — Elsworth.  Its the name of  a man who saved my grandfather’s life in World War 2.   We owe it to that dude.
The funny thing is that Elsworth means “pretentious.” I laugh every time I think about the fact that I have named my son “the pretentious servant.”  At least with one named King and one named servant we have covered the entire gamut of societal strata.
In closing, remember us at 6 am next Friday.  We’ll post pictures (within the year).

Is 6am the induction time (or a c-section?). Please, please, please post pictures before his 1st birthday!!! We check your blog all the time – we want to be updated on your lives……(do we sound a little desperate???).

Well, if I was choosing a hard core 60’s era football name, I would go with Franco. Or maybe Mean Joe. Definately not Butkis. Or his first name.

    Can we call him Deke?

Yes. But let’s steer clear of the Steeler references.

    Erin,

6 a.m. is the induction time. As you know, our babies are big (Ellie was 9 lbs 4 oz and Benny was 9 lbs 1 oz) so when the sonogram revealed that Deacon was about 7 lbs 13 oz with a variance of plus or minus a pound we figured that it was likely that he would be plus a pound. So we wanted to get him out and the Nurse Midwife agreed.

Please pray for Kristina. She is miserable. She can’t sleep. She can’t get comfortable. She has heartburn all the time. I feel so badly for her.

We shall pray indeed! Please keep us posted! I will avoid the desperate pleas to post recent info of the family since Erin already begged :) I bet you will be feeling so much better once that baby is born! God Bless. Love you.
