yet again

after a long hiatus I am back, (Lord willing). Because I have seen some of my old friend’s new blogs and received some recent comments I realized people may actually care to keep up with Team Taylor, so I will renew my efforts to have a blog.

Things here are going well. When I came to Waverly a few months ago there were four kids in the youth group and six (or so) people in the choir. We are running about 20 kids in youth and 12 (or so) in the choir.

I am not sure why this is happening. When I told Keith (the other pastor) how many kids I had for a service the other night he looked at me dumb-foundedly said, “but you’re teaching the bible, aren’t you?” I think so. I am not pulling any punches with these kids and they keep coming back.

All this to say that I think the Lord is blessing my ministry. (I just hope it is in the good way and not the Joel Osteen way).

I know this place is blessing me. Kristina and I love the people at the church and we like our neighborhood. Although getting used to small town life has been a challenge. I don’t like having to drive 35 minutes to get good coffee. Actually, the gas station coffee here is not bad, it’s just that there is no “coffee house effect” when you have to walk past the gum/potato chip aisle to get it and the coffee is value priced with a 3-day old donut.

God bless,
Drew
